At MidState Internal Medicine, we provide the highest quality internal medicine care to patients in Nashville and Pleasant View, TN, and surrounding areas. Led by Dr. David Heusinkveld, Tamera Pace, NP, and JoAnn Ferland, NP, our team cares for patients aged 18+. We offer a range of services, including comprehensive physical exams and screenings, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, preventive care, immunizations, and much more.

MEET
DR. HEUSINKVELD
Dr. David Heusinkveld is a board-certified internist in Nashville, TN. He is affiliated with TriStar Centennial Medical Center and Parthenon Pavillion. Dr. Heusinkveld received his medical degree from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, as well as an internal medicine residency at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Heusinkveld has been included on several best doctors lists, including Regional Top Doctor, Top MD, Castle Conolly, and more. Additionally, his work has been published in a number of medical journals.
MEET TAMERA PACE,
MSN, APRN, BC
Tamera is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Austin Peay State University and completed her master's in nursing with an advanced practice degree at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. There, she was also named the Most Outstanding Student in her class.
Tamera has practiced internal medicine with Dr. David Heusinkveld for over 25 years. Her special focus is working with adult patients and managing acute, as well as chronic disease processes.
She is married with two children and is a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. She resides with her family in Ashland City.
MEET JOANN FERLAND, APRN, FNP-BC
JoAnn is originally from Alberta Canada and moved to Tennessee in 1993. She received a BA in Social Work in 1979 at Dordt University in Sioux Centre, Iowa and graduated with her MSN from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 1997. She has over 25 years of experience in ER, urgent care, family medicine and primary care. She enjoys her patients of all ages and the challenges of her nurse practitioner career. Her greatest love is spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoys physical exercise, reading, piano and traveling. She is excited to join the MidState Internal Medicine team.
MEET BAILEY BERRY,
APRN, FNP-BC
Bailey Berry started her medical career in 2015 as a ER Technician at a local hospital in Springfield, Tennessee. She advanced her career becoming a Registered Nurse and then Family Nurse Practitioner. While in graduate school, she found a strong interest in primary care and disease management. Bailey has an extensive background in critical care and emergency medicine. With her background, she has the ability to think critically through challenging situations in order to assess and appropriately treat patients. Bailey has a strong passion for family and cares for her patients as if they were her own family. She strives to give each patient the highest quality of life, while putting the patient first.
Bailey is Tennessee born and raised, growing up in Robertson County. She takes pride in providing care to the community in which she was raised. Outside of patient care, she enjoys trying different cuisines, antiquing, traveling, and being with her family. Never too far behind her is her Boston Terrier, Rocky.
